Thats my sighthound Cubi. A Galgo Espanol, rescued from Spain where he was due to be killed. He's one year old, 71cm height and damn fast (up to 60km/h).
First thing I always look at when viewing pictures like this: how dynamic is it? Animals = movement, energy.
This one has a lot of movement to it, or hints of at last. Also, was this taken two seconds later, the splash of snow at the dogs feet would have dissapeared which would have given the picture a more "dull" look.
The highlights on the tail, side of the face and paws really add to the atmosphere. It makes the dog look even more energetic!
I always give something negative to, because no picture is truly perfect... that being said: I know it was cold and the dog maybe a bit skinny (seeing as it is a typical sighthound), but the colors disrupt the flow of the picture. It centers attention on the dog, but it also makes him stand out a bit to much. It just doesn't "fit" in the environment.
I don't know, maybe it's just a that I love a balanced picture...
All in all, a very dynamic and beautiful picture with a lot of atmo!!
I found the beauty of this photo at his legs...that tiny splash of ice has given a magical look...need a little more aggressive pose....I think he don't need that dress for the photo sessions....his tail is funny there.light around the tail is making it noticeable and his ears too...he got a rough and tough face ....i am sure that this is just a preview....i like to see the actual shot ...really he got a scary face...his teeths should be shown little and I think a shot in which he taking a cornering will be more action packed and beautiful...Overall I like this photo...because his looks are saying something....
The Canon 70-200 zooms count to the best zooms ever built, a great performer in prime lens quality which I use when I want to deliver best quality, an the other hand they're very expensive...
